Infiniti QX80 Monograph Concept set to debut in June

Infiniti will be previewing the next generation of its QX80 SUV with a prototype car called the Monograph, CarBuzz reports citing Bob Welby, SDO of Infiniti USA.

The company has used that nameplate before. Six years ago, the first concept car called the QX80 Monograph came out to preview the first facelift of the SUV – you can find it in the gallery and the video below. In 2020, it followed up with a QX Monograph concept previewing the new QX60.

As for the new concept, there are no images or videos of it yet. CarBuzz believes the production car will make intensive use of the latest in infotainment technology and driving assistance. The engine lineup may get refreshed in the same way as the Lexus LX. Among other things, it means losing the 5.6-liter V8 in favor of a smaller, electrified engine.

The current QX80 is 13 years old and had two facelifts in 2015 and 2018. Originally called the QX56, it was later renamed as Infiniti revised its naming conventions.

The media first learned last summer that a next-gen QX80 was coming. Back then, rumors insisted that the SUV would introduce the market to a brand-new design philosophy and become a reboot of sorts for the whole Infiniti brand. None of this has been confirmed so far.
