Lamborghini recalls a handful of new Countach supercars because of flying roof parts

Lamborghini has officially announced a recall of nine Countach LPI 800-4 vehicles registered in the USA after an incident that happened in Qatar, Carscoops reports.

The NHTSA explains that these cars might lose one or more glass panels covering their engine bay while being driven, potentially endangering those driving behind them. Lamborghini immediately responded with a recall, pointing out that it was aware of exactly one such incident occurring in Qatar with no injuries reported. Still, an internal investigation revealed that an error the company blames on a third-party vendor could lead to the glue holding the glass panes in place losing its adhesive properties.

The automaker will be sending notifications to all owners asking them to drive by an authorized service center for an inspection of the panes and the replacement of any faulty ones. Whether the recall may later spread to the rest of the production batch is unclear at the moment.
