Video: 2,000-HP Lambo Huracan sets a world record

Tuners like AMS Performance are slow burners in a sense: you won’t hear about them quite as often as, say, Mansory or Brabus, but when you do, it is because they are all over the headlines. Meet the AMS Alpha Omega, the world’s fastest Lamborghini Huracan.

At the Texas 2K race that took place in March, the Italian coupe managed to cover a quarter-mile in 7.4 seconds and accelerate to 304 km/h (189 mph) as it did so. A more recent race saw it break that record with 7.33 seconds and 311.5 km/h (193.5 mph).

The unique Lambo slams the tarmac with around 2,000 HP (1,491 kW) and 1,734 Nm (1,279 lb-ft) of torque. Most of the performance comes from a top-of-the-line turbo kit (Garrett G42 1200), a billet intake manifold, a seven-speed DCT with a new clutch, and a plethora of other high-end components. Mickey Thomspon ET Drag tires cater for adequate traction, while beadlock wheels protect them from slipping off.

Watch the video: we are pretty certain you haven’t seen a Lambo as wild as this before.
