Italian car workshop Automobili Amos has announced the revival of the Lancia Delta, one of the most successful rally car models in history. The new series will get the “Futurista” suffix and will consist of only 25 cars.
Judging by the early images of the vehicle, it looks like a big success, indeed. The designers have managed to keep all of its original features, including the overall edgy shape, the bold fenders, the round headlights and the tiny door handles.
The main difference comes in the form of the door layout. The newcomer will only have two doors, as opposed to the original four. Its body will be assembled manually using aluminum and carbon parts, which should keep its weight under 1,250 kg (2,755 lb).
The new Lancia Delta Futurista will get a 334-hp (250-kW) engine instead of the 200-hp (150-kW) one of its predecessor. As a restomod, it will feature oil/water cooling, air intakes, Brembo performance brakes, Magneti Marelli electronics and a sport exhaust system.
