Lotus introduced its all-electric SUV, the Eletre, this past spring, but omitted too many details. Now that the production is finally beginning at the company’s new factory in China, we may finally study the official technical specifications of the performance car.
Buyers will be able to choose from three versions of the Eletre, all of them equipped with dual electric motors and a 112-kWh traction battery. In its most basic form, the car makes 612 PS (603 hp / 450 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft), enabling it to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds. The range amounts to 600 kilometers according to the latest European standards.
The upmarket S trim has the same oily bits, but benefits from such premium features as an active spoiler, a high-end audio system, ambient lighting, and others.
The range-topping R spec shapes up to be a truly formidable machine with 918 PS (905 hp / 675 kW) and 985 Nm (726 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. It goes from rest to 100 km/h in a tire-rending 2.95 seconds, but makes do with only 490 km (304 miles) of range.
As for the pricing, the standard SUV starts from €96,000 in Germany. The Eletre S commands a €25,000 premium over that price, and the R version raises the premium to €55,000.
