Check out a Maserati Grecale Trofeo putting its muscle to a test

The Maserati Grecale Trofeo shares the platform with the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, but runs on the same 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 TT as the MC20, just dialed down to 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. Can it really reach the OEM-rated top speed of 285 km/h (177 mph) or not? A recent video from AutoTopNL provides the answer.

The Italian coupe hits the autobahn and quickly proves who is the boss by effortlessly reaching 294 km/h (182.7 mph), an impressive achievement for an SUV. Of course, it is common knowledge that most modern speedometers are tweaked to err on the side of caution, exaggerating the actual speeds to keep drivers in check. Even with that in mind, it is abundantly clear now that the Grecale Trofeo can use its full acceleration potential without a problem.
