Mercedes-AMG S63e sheds most of its camo

The Mercedes S-Class range already includes one part-electric model, the S 580e, which the company launched a few months ago with a system output of 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW). Now, another one is drawing near – and it looks like a PHEV.

The car depicted on the fresh spy shots is a Mercedes-AMG, and rumors suggest it is called S63e. The camouflage is almost gone, exposing larger air intakes, a different exhaust system, performance brakes, low clearance, and a new radiator grille.

As a plug-in hybrid, the alleged S63e may ship with a 4.0-liter V8 assisted by an electric motor for around 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) total. A top spec might come later with a “73e” badge and around 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) at its disposal. None of this is official at the moment.
