Mercedes-AMG unleashes a pair of GT supercars – for the track and for the road

Following a mysterious series of teasers, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled two extreme new supercars. Both are built on the familiar AMG GT platform, but while one is a purebred GT3 racer, the other one dons a Black Series badge and is street-legal.

It may be too early to judge appearances. Both cars are wrapped in mottled camo, so only the larger body kit parts like the splitter, the diffuser and the rear wing are discernible. Both wear the same colors they will be produced in: warm red for the GT3 and greenish yellow for the Black Series. Having said that, the design is not yet final and therefore is liable to change.

According to the automaker, the racer draws inspiration from the last year’s AMG GT Track Sport Project. Once ready, it will go on sale and will be available for private clients to buy. It is also expected to set a handful of new records, including on the Nürburgring. As for the Black Series, it is shaping up to be the most radical entry in the whole lineup. Too bad there are still no technical details.
