The jury of WWCOTY (World Women’s Car of the Year award) has published its short list of nominations for the grand prize. All six entries are either electrified or fully electric vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA saloon won in the Best Light Passenger Car category. Nissan Leaf snatched the award for compacts, while Ioniq 9 grabbed the gold in the Full-Size SUV category. Skoda Elroq was recognized as the best compact crossover SUV, while Toyota 4Runner was picked for off-road adventures. Never ones to think small, women opted for the $400,000+ Lamborghini Temerario as their go-to sports car.
According to the committee, the biggest emphasis was made on vehicles that meet the requirements of a woman living in the modern digital era. “Electrification, digitalization and environmental friendliness” were named among the most basic and self-understood requirements, rather than “trends or fads.”
We should be able to learn about the overall WWCOTY-2026 winner in March.
