MINI has unveiled another version of its top-of-the-line hatchback, the John Cooper Works 1to6. A total of 999 such cars will roll off the assembly lines, possibly marking the end of the stick shift for the British manufacturer.
The MINI JCW 1to6 will stand out from the crowd thanks to numerous ‘One of 999’ badges, including one on the glass sunroof, and a gear shift scheme depicted on the tailgate. It will be available exclusively in black with a matching aero kit, a grey racing stripe running down the middle, and 18-inch wheels.
Things stay unchanged under the hood, meaning the wheels are still driven by the usual 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot rated at 231 PS (228 hp / 170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint time is estimated at 6.3 seconds – 0.2 seconds slower than with the standard 8A/T.
Prices in the UK start from £39,600 (U.S. $49,500), but only 150 out of the planned 999 units will be sold on the domestic market.
