The next-generation Mitsuoka Viewt story, a retro-themed hatchback based on the latest Toyota Yaris – is now available in Japan starting from ¥3,480,000.
The model is particularly inspired by the Jaguar Mk II of the model year 1959. Up until the end of 2023, Mitsuoka plans to produce just 40 units per month, but hopes to be able to raise the plank to 180 monthly units in 2024. The company says it already has a year’s worth of pre-orders to work with.
Any new Yaris can be accepted for the conversion – it doesn’t matter whether you pick ICE or EV. The work involves a complete replacement of body panels and lights all around.
Interestingly enough, the company’s older Viewt model (see video) was based on the Nissan Micra instead. Should you really want your Viewt story based on the Micra instead of Yaris, Mitsuoka says it will oblige – for the right price.
