Hyundai Ioniq 7 spied testing

A full-size electric SUV identifiable as Hyundai’s upcoming Ioniq 7 has been spotted testing on the streets of South Korea.

The vehicle looked very similar to the Seven Concept from three years ago. Like its close cousin – the Kia EV9 – it is built on an architecture known as the E-GMP. The EV9 can be ordered with a single electric motor on the rear axle rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Paying a premium nets you an AWD version with two motors outputting a combined 385 PS (380 hp / 283 kW) and 600 Nm (441 lb-ft).

It remains to be seen whether the Ioniq 7 gets the same powertrain options or not. The same goes for battery sizes, of which the EV9 gets two: 76.1 and 99.8 kilowatt-hours.

We should learn more during the Busan International Motor Show in South Korea in June, just as long as Hyundai finalizes the SUV in time for the event.
