Check out these cheap Chinese EVs cosplaying luxury cars

These photos snapped at a showroom in China suggest that there’s a demand in the country for small electric cars styled to resemble luxury marques like Rolls-Royce и Mercedes-Maybach.

Make no mistake: both EVs seen here are categorized as “LSEV” (Low Speed Electric Vehicle) and cost the rough equivalent of $2,000, according to the source. That’s nowhere near the originals.

Aside from quasi-extravagant looks, both come equipped with rear-hinged a.k.a. “suicide” doors, fake leather in the cabin and vivid contour backlight all around.
