Nissan Juke goes EV, while Skyline sticks to ICE power

As it announced its revised product strategy for the next few years, Nissan unveiled the upcoming all-electric Juke crossover and confirmed that a new generation of the Skyline sedan was underway to the market in Japan.

In terms of looks, the Juke EV resembles none of the brand’s current offerings, instead making us remember the Hyper Punk Concept from three years ago. It sports a highly geometric body with lots of irregular lines and creases throughout, yet the whole somehow manages to look sporty. The headlights are shaped like natural crystals, the door handles lie flush with the body, and the rear end is coupe-shaped for extra style points.

All technical details are pending. The new Juke is a model year 2027 vehicle, so it’s probably going to be a long wait till we learn more. When it does go on sale, Nissan says it will be available side-by-side with its hybrid cousin. And if we had to make a guess about the powertrain, we’d say Nissan Leaf could donate its own.

As for the Skyline, these two darkened teaser pics are all we have right now. Judging by them, the saloon will retain its signature round taillights while getting an all-new body and aero kit. The company also makes it clear that it won’t be electrified, hinting at a 3.0-liter V6 mated to a manual transmission as the most likely option.
