While Nissan is getting ready to unveil its NX8 hybrid SUV in China, its full technical specifications went online.
According to these, the model will combine a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 148 PS (146 hp / 109 kW) with an electric motor adding 265 PS (261 hp / 195 kW) of its own. The speed won’t exceed 180 km/h (112 mph), and the all-electric range will vary from 102 to 185 kilometers (from 63 to 115 miles) based on battery and trim options.
Speaking of the batteries, there will be three sizes to choose from – 20.3, 21.1 and 37.4 kilowatt-hours. Nissan emphasizes that the NX8 is its first vehicle co-designed with Dongfeng in China to benefit from an 800V power architecture. As such, it is compliant with the CATL 5C standard, meaning you can theoretically charge the car to the max level up to five times per hour.
On the exterior side of things, the SUV is 4,870 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall. It has 2,917 mm between the axles and comes with a smart self-parking feature designed for China’s crowded parking lots. The interior remains to be shown, and we still don’t know when the sales may start and what the prices are going to be like.
Aside from the hybrid version, an NX8 EV is also reportedly in development. We will have to wait some more for any details on that one, though.
