Nissan Z channels its inner 300ZX and GT-R

Nissan has announced the Z Heritage Edition, a styling package for the regular Nissan Z inspired by the iconic 1989 Nissan 300ZX. It comes in at nearly $3,000 and doesn’t contain much aside from a body recolor and some OEM options.

As you may have already noticed, the car flaunts the legendary Midnight Purple exterior found on many award-winning Nissan sports cars of the past, the GT-R among them. A bronze decal running along the lower body lends it a bit of visual bite, and the rear end rocks a carbon-fiber spoiler that says “Twin Turbo”.

Interior novelty boils down to embroidered floor mats and scuff plates – nothing else. On the technical front, the car gets better brakes and a limited-slip differential. The whole package costs $2,940 and only fits the Z Performance spec.

In the United States, the Nissan Z is obtainable with two transmission types – six-speed manual and nine-speed automatic. Both cost the same at $53,000 before options.

Other than that, the 2026 Nissan Z doesn’t look much different from the year before. It still packs a 3.0-liter V6 rated at 405 PS (400 hp / 298 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque. The Nismo version bumps up the output to 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW). It also comes with stiffer body and suspension, overhauled aero and a racing-themed cabin.
