Lewis Hamilton’s Pagani Zonda crashes yet again

The Pagani Zonda 760 LH supercar that once belonged to seven-times-champion of Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton, has been seriously damaged in an incident earlier this week. The driver walked away, Motor1 reports showing photos of the aftermath.

Hamilton bought the Zonda nine years ago and left his initials on it. He was also the first buyer to specify it with a manual transmission instead of the standard sequential gearbox.

In 2015, he got into a minor incident in Monaco. Talking with the media later, he praised the ‘gorgeous’ engine sound of the car but complained about terrible handling. He hadn’t even put 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) on his Zonda in the seven years that he owned it, and ended up selling it.

The current owner bought the supercar in late 2021 for a rumored price of €10,000,000. Driving it earlier this week, he said he got carried away and accelerated too fast in a tunnel in Wales, plowing into a wall. He was lucky to avoid injury, but the Zonda wound up with broken headlights, a cracked windshield and – more importantly – damaged bodywork and suspension. Preliminary inspection suggests that the damage can be repaired, but the bill will likely be an unpleasant surprise.
