The German sports car company plans to shut down nearly every third dealership in China due to falling demand.
In January–September 2024, Porsche managed to sell 29% less cars in that country than the year before. It must have dealt a serious blow to the automaker, who had called China its single largest distribution market for the past eight years.
Now that Chinese customers fall out of love with Porsche, the brand plans to downsize its dealership network in the country from 138 to 100 locations by the end of 2026.
