Renault Duster updated to stay competitive in India

Renault has facelifted its Duster lineup for the rapidly growing SUV market of India. While not much has changed in the powertrain department, the styling and especially the trim options have been upgraded.

As far as looks are concerned, we believe the new Duster is a looker with its laconic and modern headlights, bulkier bumpers and larger skid plates at both ends, and stamped sides that look sportier than ever. Interior highlights include a new 10.25-inch digital dash and a 10.1-inch infotainment display with built-in Google Services. Panoramic roof, premium audio, powered tailgate and ventilated seats are all available for the first time.

Customers are still choosing from three powertrains. The base 1.0-liter three-pot outputs 100 PS (99 hp / 74 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque to the front end via a six-speed manual transmission. A superior 1.3-liter mill links to a six-speed DCT and makes 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW) along with 280 Nm (207 lb-ft). Last but not least, a fuel-efficient 1.8-liter hybrid is available with 160 PS and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft) at its disposal. All-wheel drive continues to not be an option.
