The third generation of the Kia Soul is now available on its home market in South Korea. The updated crossover/SUV had its motor show debut last fall.
The Soul family now incorporates two all-electric variants of the car that come with different engine power and battery capacity.
The top trim ships with a 64 kWh battery and an engine with 204 hp (152 kW). Its range is manufacturer-rated at 427 km / 265 mi in urban conditions and 336 km / 210 mi in the country.
The base trim comes equipped with a 39.2 kWh battery and a 136-hp (101-kW) engine. It is rated for 280 km / 175 mi (urban) and 214 km / 133 mi (highway), accordingly.
The five-door EV supports several drive modes, including Normal, Sport, Eco and Super Eco. The driver can adjust the strength of the regenerative brake function by using the paddle shifter.
The third-generation Soul ships with a 10.25” touch-enabled infotainment system on board, as well as a SatNav system that can find the best charging station to use during the trip when the battery is low.
Prices for the new Kia Soul start at 46,000,000 South Korean Won domestically.
