Video: 400-HP Octavia RS vs. BMW 745Le Hybrid

What do the Skoda Octavia RS and the newest BMW 745Le PHEV have in common? Very little, actually. Both are sedans, but while the Octavia is an affordable daily driver, the 7 Series is a luxury-laden executive car often seen with a pro driver behind the wheel. Still, tuners wouldn’t be tuners if they didn’t want to compare the two on a drag strip.

For the Skoda to have anything like a chance, it received a power boost to 400 PS (295 kW). This even made it marginally stronger than the stock 745Le with its 394 PS (290 kW). However, the latter still has two aces up its sleeve: namely, all-wheel drive and instant torque generated by its 113-PS (83-kW) electric motor.
