VW Arteon for China debuts as a crossover/wagon

Ministry of Industry of China has released the photos of the upcoming Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake, a car that seems to have an estate/wagon body style with an unpainted plastic SUV body kit slapped on.

The model goes by the “CC” designation in China and should hit the market in two versions: 330 TSI and 380 TSI. Both share the same basic four-cylinder engine with a turbocharger and two liters of displacement room, but while the former gets 190 hp (142 kW) out of it, the latter is ahead with its 220 hp (164 kW). Additionally, those buying the latter spec will be able to pay extra for the R-Line design package.

The performance-oriented Arteon R may or may not make its way into the China lineup. If it does, it will likely pack the same engine as the latest Golf R and 330 hp (246 kW).

The 2021 facelift of the VW Arteon liftback and estate/wagon will be officially revealed on June 24, 2020.
