According to reports, Volkswagen has decided to discontinue its stretched version of the Tiguan SUV (see the gallery below). Instead, it plans to release its China-only Tayron crossover worldwide in 2024.
The Volkswagen Tayron (see video) hit the market in 2018 and was never offered outside of China. The Tiguan is also present on the same market, but the Tayron has a distinctly different design and is produced at the FAW-VW joint enterprise.
The Tayron received a mid-generational refresh last year. Rumor has it that it will go into its second generation prior to the worldwide release. Chances are good that it ends up running on the same MQB platform as the Skoda Kodiaq. If so, it will get revised exterior styling, larger dimensions and new options.
