ABT launches a batch of light T6.1 RVs with a roof tent

Volkswagen AG tuner ABT Sportsline has announced the production of 500 campervans based on the Volkswagen Transporter 6.1 chassis and tech. Dubbed the ABT XNH, the van wears ABT body kit, wheels and badges, while the whole interior comes from another brand – Vaning GmbH.

On the outside, the Transporter sports a different radiator grille, front bumper intake bezels and a sporty front splitter. The side skirts are slightly longer than stock, and the rear bumper has four exhaust tips sticking out of it – most likely just for show. The black 18-inch wheels are unique and designed for this project alone.

A peek inside reveals a spacious bed for two, plenty of wooden storage cabinets mounted on an aluminum frame, a tiny kitchenette with a fridge, a tabletop and a sink, and a small folding table. There are blinds on the windows, a 230V power socket for all your gadget-charging needs and a compact toilet if you need it. A pop-up tent on the roof can accommodate two more people.

Pricing starts from €138,900 before any options, which is arguably rather steep for an RV lacking a proper shower cabin or a stove for cooking.
