Volvo EX60 launch date announced

Volvo has shared a new teaser image of its all-electric EX60 SUV and confirmed its premiere date: January 21, 2026. The company promises it more range than any other Volvo EV in existence.

The image only reveals the general outline of the crossover. Highlights include a sloped roof, slanted c-pillars and a subtle rear spoiler. You can also just about discern the company’s traditional T-shaped DRLs and vertical taillights. On the whole, it looks like the EX60 will be very similar to its gas-powered counterpart, the XC60.

From the technical point of view, it’s already official that the model runs on a Volvo SPA3 platform. It’s largely the same electric vehicle architecture as the one used in the EX90 and ES90, but with some major updates. Right now, the Volvo ES90 is the company’s best EV for long trips with 700 km (435 miles) per charge. It sounds like the EX60 will offer more than that.

The production will begin at the Volvo factory in Gothenburg, Sweden in the first half of 2026. Back in June, the gas-powered XC60 received the title of the most popular Volvo in history, so one may say the company is playing it safe by releasing the battery version.
