Check out a $1M Batman’s Tumbler replica

A recent YouTube video tells the story of a still unfinished six-wheel Batmobile replica from Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. The car will cost $1 million to build and is already claimed to be street-legal.

Mark Irvin, GFX and vehicle animation specialist known for his works in Godzilla and Jurassic Park movies, started designing the real-life Tumbler completely from scratch several years ago. The work stopped for a while, but then continued thanks to a Californian blogger known by his social moniker, Lambo Jesus: he is considered the owner of the Batmobile.

The car is over 2.5 meters (98 inches) long and uses a 5.9-liter V8 to rotate its four rear wheels wrapped in 47-inch mud tires. 4WS also seems to be present, if the video is any indication.

The project is far from over, though: the interior needs to be designed and produced, the weapons mounted, and the body finished. The vehicle can already move, and the author of the video claims it steers very intuitively. What intrigues us the most, however, is how exactly the thing became road-legal.
