There are many replicas and custom interpretations of original Shelby Cobra cars, but this one still stands out as one of the most unusual and interesting ones.
Posted for U.S. $745,000 at RM Sotheby’s, this 1965 Cobra was built by Kirkham Motorsports, which gave it a full handcrafted bronze body with matte stripes for contrast.
The one-off work of art relies on a 427ci (8.4-liter) FE v8 engine by Carroll Shelby Engine Company for propulsion. The mill features a Borla induction system of throttle-body injection and hits a five-speed manual transmission with 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW).
Other highlights include stainless-steel exhaust pipes running down the sides, Halibrand-style wheels shod with Goodyear Eagle tires, bucket seats wrapped in black leather, and a classical dashboard.
