Acura facelifts the RDX

After nearly six years on the market, the Acura RDX has received its long-awaited refresh.

A new grille mesh at the front end is arguably the biggest highlight on the outside. There are also new wheels sized up to 20 inches in diameter, as well as more color options and more black trim bits for those interested in a little added contrast.

Inside, the transmission tunnel looks different with larger cupholders, and a wireless charger has moved to a more convenient position. The infotainment system with its 10.2-inch display stays the same, but benefits from widescreen support in both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto modes. New trim and backlight options are available.

Things stay the same under the hood. Regardless of your preferred trim, the 2025 Acura RDX ships with a 2.0-liter turbo engine rated at 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission conveys the momentum to all four wheels – the AWD is standard for all specs. It can redirect up to 70% of the torque to the rear end and balance it between the rear wheels as necessary.

Overall, we’d say the scope of updates is rather humble for an SUV that’s six years old. The likeliest explanation is that the RDX is still highly popular in the United States, with the sales surging 28% in the first half of 2024. It is actually Acura’s only model on the market to have risen in popularity this year, so the company probably reasoned it should leave good enough alone.
