Manhart packs 910 metric horses inside a BMW M5 wagon

The latest BMW M5 Touring hybrid is by no means a slouch in stock form, packing 727 PS (717 hp / 535 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. That’s more than some supercars have, let alone family haulers. Still, Manhart reckoned it could use a decent tune-up.

The result is now available for ordering as the Manhart MH5 900E. In this guise, the Bavarian estate gets an external ECU and a performance exhaust system, driving the output to 910 PS (898 hp / 669 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. The tuner hasn’t revealed any sprint time measurements, but a stock M5 Touring is good for a 3.6-second run from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Interestingly, the exterior of the stock car was deemed “good enough” not to mess with. Manhart still offers its thematic decals for those interested, but no new body kit parts. You can also opt for the company’s Concave One forged wheels sized 20” front and 21” rear, and have your suspension dropped on either regular short springs or adjustable coilovers. Check out the video for an idea of what the exhaust sounds like.
