G-Power-tuned BMW X6 M hits 309 km/h on a speedway

YouTube channel AutoTopNL has posted test footage featuring a BMW X6 M (F96) recently modded by G-Power. The acceleration chops of a mildly tuned crossover SUV overshot all expectations.

In its production form, the car sends up to 625 PS (616 hp, 459 kW) to the wheels, while its torque can reach as high as 750 Nm (553 lb-ft). The scope of modifications in this particular project was limited to an ECU remap and the installation of new downpipes and exhaust system. No other measures were taken, except for speed limiter removal.

The output rose to 770 hp (574 kW) and nearly 1,000 Nm (745 lb-ft) of torque. The SUV hit 100 km/h (62 mph) mere 3.2 seconds from launch instead of the usual 3.8s and proceeded to attain 200 km/h (124 mph) 7.6s later. It then maxed out at 309 km/h (192 mph) – a spectacular result, given its bulk and the comparatively mild tuning.

G-Power has another package in store for the Bavarian crossover, which pushes it even further to 820 PS (809 hp, 603 kW), but involves plenty of costlier modifications, such as the replacement of both turbos.
