BYD has confirmed that its Seal 07 saloon now has a fully electric version due out later this month. In many respects, it looks and feels the same as the hybrid Seal 07 DM-i (see video).
Like its petrol-electric cousin, the Seal 07 EV features a LiDAR hump on the roof, large headlight units, air intakes and a radiator grille – the latter two likely staying there purely for show.
Interior highlights include a 15.6-inch head unit, a four-spoke steering wheel and a fairly minimal transmission tunnel with a single wireless charging pad and a row of handy physical buttons.
Per the patent application found in the MIIT database, the EV spans 4,995 mm (195.1 inches) long with a wheelbase of 2.9 meters (113.3 inches). The only powertrain registered thus far mentions a single 326-PS (322-hp / 240-kW) electric motor mounted at the rear axle. It is enough to take the car to a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) and grant it up to 705 km (438 miles) of range per the local standard. The battery itself is OEM-rated at 69 kilowatt-hours of capacity.
Other powertrain options may be announced at launch as usual, so stay tuned if you are interested.
