U.S. premium automaker Cadillac has held an online presentation dedicated to its first electric vehicle, the futuristic Lyric SUV. It is also the first General Motors model to benefit from a new EV platform and Ultium Long Range battery tech.
The important thing to realize it that 85% of the car, according to the manufacturer, is still in its pre-production form and may change underway to the assembly line. Notable exterior features include an originally styled radiator grille with integrated LEDs, as well as vertical headlights.
The Lyriq comes equipped with 100 kilowatt-hours of battery storage reportedly sufficient for 483 kilometers (300 miles) of range. The company claims its charging device is built for “rather fast” replenishment of the battery, without providing details.
The SUV comes rear-wheel driven by default, but you can opt for AWD if you want it. Allegedly, the use of innovative technology enables it to have an extremely low center of gravity, as well as the perfect 50:50 inter-axle weight distribution ratio.
