2026 Deepal S07 launched in China with fewer options, leaner pricing

Changan sub-brand Deepal a.k.a. Shenlan is accepting preorders for its facelifted S07 mid-size crossover. The RWD machine is still available in all-electric and range-extender hybrid flavors, but ditches a few less popular trims in favor of a richer base trim level and better value across the range.

When the Deepal S07 was announced a couple of years ago, it was called the S7. The company later renamed it to S07 to avoid potential conflicts with Audi on the global market. It went on sale in July 2024 offering a choice from four EV and six hybrid variants priced from 149,900 to 219,900 Yuan.

The company has now trimmed the lineup down to just five versions, ditching the cheapest and the most expensive trim levels. As a result, the new S07 starts slightly higher at 156,900 Yuan, but maxes out much lower at 173,900 Yuan.

According to the new price list, the base hybrid version now comes with two battery sizes to choose from – 31.73 and 39.05 kilowatt-hours. The former is good for 230 km and the latter for 300 km of CLTC-rated all-electric range. Deepal claims. That’s 15 kilometers more than before the facelift. The low-end 18.99-kWh battery pack rated at 125 kilometers of range is no longer available. Once fueled and charged to nominal capacity, the SUV can go on for roughly 1,350 km (839 miles) until a refill becomes necessary.

In turn, the EV version no longer ships with its biggest 79.97-kWh pack rated at 628 km. Instead, your only option is a 68.82-kWh pack now good for 550 km (342 miles), a solid step-up from its pre-facelift rating of 520 km.

Regardless of your trim choice, the new Deepal S07 comes with Huawei’s latest Qiankun ADS SE package included as standard. Only three out of 10 pre-facelift trims included it for free, while the remaining seven had it listed as a 20,000-Yuan option.
