Chery Tiggo 8 Plus PHEV pics leak online

Chery continues testing its petrol-electric crossover, the Tiggo 8 Plus, and claims it only consumes 1.3 liters of gas per 100 km (180 miles per U.S. gallon).

The plug-on hybrid was announced last month without any informative images, but a recent leak enables us to throw a first glimpse at the model, which was caught charging from a wall socket.

Compared to the standard Tiggo 8 Plus (see video), the PHEV is identical except for an added charging port. The interiors also look the same.

Chery said it planned to piece together 75,000 such hybrids per year.
