Stellantis-owned car brand Chrysler is getting ready to update its only production vehicle on the market right now – the Pacifica minivan. While not its first refresh, it will be by far its biggest, Automotive News Canada reports quoting Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell.
Earlier this month, the company officially ended the production of its 300C sedan, thus becoming a single-model car manufacturer. According to Feuell, this status quo will persist through the next year – until the company’s first electric vehicle debuts in 2025.
Some time ago, we had speculated that Chrysler’s first EV would be closely based on its Airflow Concept, which reportedly took more than a year to design. However, Feuell said in her latest interview that it would be a completely different car with a new name instead. It would boast unique looks and have STLA Large underpinnings with a battery pack built into the floor for 650 km (404 miles) of driving range. A Level 3 self-driving system is also on the list.
Unofficial sources reported back in March that Chrysler was considering updating its Pacifica lineup. It is now official that the facelift is coming, but will not be released until the first EV. Since that one is scheduled for 2025, we suspect the new Pacifica may now follow until 2026.
