Chrysler rethinks sports car plans, facelifts the Pacifica instead

Stellantis-owned can brand Chrysler has posted a handful of photos of its Pacifica minivan sporting an all-new radiator grille, bumper and headlights. It hasn’t posted a description to let us know about its plans, but everything hints at a second facelift coming for the company’s only production vehicle at the moment.

The current Pacifica generation has been around since 2016, and received its latest round of beauty surgery in 2021. CarBuzz believes that another refresh is coming in 2027, bringing us a backlit company logo, a two-piece front grille with a new pattern and a smaller, sportier front bumper.

Other than that, the MPV appears to have its proportions intact, with the obvious implication that the platform and tech stay the same. It seems likely that Chrysler bundles it with the old 3.5-liter V6 tuned to 291 PS (287 hp / 214 kW). On the other hand, it might launch a new version based on its latest Hurricane-series turbo four-pot. This remains to be seen.

In early 2024, Chrysler surprised many of us with a modern and sporty-looking Halcyon Concept (see video). It was generally well-accepted, but quietly disappeared from the automaker’s investment plans in the fall of 2025. We suppose that the losses recently incurred by Stellantis, compounded by the stagnating EV market of North America, contributed to this. Regardless of the reason, it looks like the Halcyon is dead – while the Pacifica is very much alive, against all odds.
