The Dacia Logan, Sandero and Jogger have all received new factory options set to go on sale in April. Let’s have a closer look at them in the meantime.
Starting in July, Europe adopts a stricter legislation in driving assistance systems. To comply, the Romanian automaker has implemented such assists in its affordable car lineup. The list mentions speed-aware traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and lanekeeping assist, reversing proximity sensor, rain and snow sensors, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
All new cars also come equipped with a black box of sorts for recording pre-incident telemetry. A breathalyzer on board will lock the engine if it detects excess alcohol content in the driver’s breath. Most assists rely on a windshield-mounted camera for operation. QR codes on glass at both ends can be used by rescue teams to get quick access to the vehicle safety map for passenger recovery.
All three Dacia models have been in production for over three years now, but hadn’t received so much as a full facelift until now. Starting in April, they will ship with updated alloy wheels sporting fresh spoke patterns, as well as new exterior finishes. Grey and green will be available for all modifications, while the Sandero Stepway will get an exclusive shade of beige. Inside, USB-C ports come to replace the outdates USB-A slots, and there is a dedicated button on the dashboard for quickly toggling multiple assists on and off.
Buying a Jogger wagon or a Sandero Stepway in a trim version named Expression gets you an optional body decal depicting the Transfăgărășan Mountain Road – one of Europe’s most picturesque scenic routes situated in the mountains of Romania. The Jogger Hybrid now ships with a seven-inch digital dash screen and a special drive mode designed to keep the charge level above 70 percent.
Perhaps most impressively, Dacia has managed to do away with a 400-page printed User Manual. The maintenance guide that comes with the car only has 32 pages in it now, helping save nature. The full version of the manual is still available to download in digital form.
