No Joke, Folks: Fiat is bringing back the Multipla

The Fiat Multipla was a compact van in the late 1990s that many car enthusiasts agreed was a design disaster and one of the ugliest vehicles ever produced en-masse. It is now official that the model will be coming back – albeit in a revised form.

All we know right now is that Fiat officially intends to bring the ugly duckling back home as a full-electric crossover SUV before 2025. The name ‘Multipla’ remains to be confirmed for the new production car, but the company fully intends to use it despite all the implications. As an SUV for the wallet-conscious among us, it will be based on the cheap CMP platform and be slightly larger than the standard B-class vehicle.

In other news, Fiat plans to bring the model designation ‘600’ back in the year 2023. It will allegedly be used for a four-seat SUV designed specifically for Europe. The resurrected Fiat 600 is expected to ship with ICE, hybrid and all-electric powertrains to choose from.
