Meet the 1934 Streamliner, a sole survivor of an era long gone

The Streamliner is a car unique in many aspects aside from just the design. Only six such cars were put together 90 years ago, and only one of them has survived to this day. With a near-zero chance of ever seeing one on the streets, you will be better off watching this video instead.

The highly original vehicle came equipped with a curved Plexiglas windshield and a had a body fabricated from stainless steel and aluminum. The interior was no less innovative than the exterior, with numerous engine-related dash gauges and a driver’s seat pushed back nearly to the middle of the cabin.

Being based on the Ford chassis, the car utilizes a 3.6-liter Ford V8 that used to deliver 86 PS (85 hp / 63 kW) when new. A basic three-speed manual gearbox conveys the torque to the wheels.
