New Ford Ranger arrives in the USA

The new iteration of the Ford Ranger came to the Asian region in 2021 and has since spread to all of its main distribution markets – except the United States. This week, Ford has finally gotten around to releasing it on its domestic market.

In its U.S. version, the new Ranger ships exclusively as the Crew Cab truck. It looks largely identical to the international version except for redesigned taillights and radiator grille pattern.

The main difference comes in the form of revised engine lineup now lacking any diesels. The base spec uses a petrol four-pot turbo rated at 274 PS (270 hp / 202 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). Those needing a bit extra should consider getting a 2.7-liter V6 TT version with 319 PS (315 hp / 235 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal.

As for the Ranger Raptor, the famed top spec is now also obtainable in the USA for the first time on record. It relies on a 3.0-liter V6 to drive the wheels with 411 PS (405 hp / 302 kW) and 583 Nm (430 lb-ft) of torque.

The sales will begin in late summer with the starting price at $32,600.
