The commercial Ford Transit Courier changed generations a month ago, while its passenger counterpart named the Tourneo has followed suit now. Both will go into production simultaneously.
The Tourneo Courier has the same body as the Transit except for the added glass dome. The interior only offers five seats with no other options, but there is plenty of room inside compared to the previous generation. The version shown so far is a high ‘off-road’ trim level with a plastic body kit, 17-inch wheels, roof rails and special seat upholstery.
There is only one IC engine on offer: a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-pot rated at 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW). You can obtain it with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DCT. That said, Ford is actively advertising the EV version over it, which has a single front-axle motor and 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) at its disposal.
The driving range remains to be announced, with sources saying it could be 370 km (230 miles). The EV looks much better equipped on the outside and has more options included in the base trim, but it will not arrive at the showrooms until the second half of 2024, Ford says.
