コンセプトカー
The Korean premium automaker has presented the GMR-001 Hypercar, an early concept previewing its high-end LMDh racer set to debut in 2026. The company is officially entering the endurance racing scene with a team called Genesis Magma Racing.
The team will begin its career at the WEC-2026 and follow up with the IMSA in 2027. The GMR-001 is being designed in such a way to be compliant with the regulations of both championships. The first test drives will take place at the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) next year.
We still don’t know the exact parameters of the car, but Genesis points out that it runs on a special chassis fabricated by Oreca. It also relies on a unique powertrain designed by Hyundai with its considerable racing experience. The identity of the main driver is being kept secret, but we expect André Lotterer to take up the job. The German pro racing driver won the 24 Hours of the Le Mans three times in his career (the last one was ten years ago), mostly piloting Audis and Porsches.
