Genesis teases a GT3 racer, a GT Coupe, and a Gran Convertible

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend, Korean premium automaker Genesis showcased as many as three vehicles: the mid-engined and street-legal Magma GT Coupe, the track-only Magma GT3, and the refreshed X Gran Convertible from last year. Production plans for these either don’t exist or remain to be announced.

According to its creators, the Magma GT3 is a hardcore race car built to comply with the GT3 regulations. Despite being both real and track-ready, it’s nonetheless not designed to compete and will not hit the track anytime soon. An actual racer inspired by it may follow later, but there’s no word on when it may happen or what its specifications would be like.

As for the Magma GT, you may remember it from a preview event last year. It is a two-door, two-seat vehicle featuring a strongly analog interior full of physical buttons and controls instead of touchscreens. Its parameters remain a mystery, and there’s still no launch date.

Last but not least, the X Gran Convertible has been updated from the last year with a revised front bumper and a couple of new trim options for the interior.

Over the next five years or so, Genesis plans to launch 22 either all-new or seriously modernized vehicles. North America remains the priority market number one for the brand, but showrooms are already being opened all across Europe. When it was originally announced, Magma was supposed to be a strictly limited luxury sub-brand; we still don’t know when it may go on sale and what the price point will be like.
