GMC has arrived at the Detroit Motor Show with the next generation of its Acadia SUV, which is bigger than its predecessor by all dimensions for extra legroom and cargo capacity.
Powering the 2024 GMC Acadia is a new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 333 PS (328 hp / 245 kW) and 326 Nm (240 lb-ft) of torque. The drive can be on the front wheels or all four, but eight-speed automatic is the only transmission available. The company has no current plans for electrification, either.
Returning to the size, the new generation is whopping 269 mm (10.5 inches) longer than the old one and 91 mm (3.55 inches) taller, too. It may not sound like too much, but GMC says even the tallest passengers will be comfortable now. That, and the trunk has been expanded considerably.
The driver gets an 11-inch digital dashboard to look at, while the infotainment display is vertical and measures 15 inches corner-to-corner. All trim levels are the same in this regard. You can pay extra for the Super Cruise package including tow assistance and automatic lane change, but the base spec already has at least 20 driver aids and safety features included.
All prices are pending.
