Honda facelifts the Civic Si for the USA

The refreshed Honda Civic Si will go on sale in North America in early August priced from U.S. $29,950.

The Si version, which occupies the middle ground between the “normal” Civic hatchback and the sporty Type R, has received the stiffest and most structurally robust body in its history so far. Honda doesn’t provide any numbers, but says that it had to recalibrate the shock absorbers for the new bodywork. New, grippier tires have been added to the options list.

A revised radiator grille, reshaped bumpers and tinted taillights sum it up for the exterior changes, unless you also count new 18-inch wheels. In turn, the interior gets a 10.2-inch display with an updated UI. The infotainment system comes loaded with Google services like navigation and voice assistance, and heated sport seats are already included in the base spec.

The old 1.5-liter turbo engine still sends 200 PS (197 hp / 145 kW) to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Honda especially highlights this combination as unique-in-class.
