Chinese premium automaker Hongqi held a competition to determine how it should refer to its Off-Road Concept first introduced at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show. It has now received 67,245 different name suggestions from 310,000 respondents.
The company has culled the list to just 10 options. The winning name will be announced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in late November, and the person who came up with it will be getting the first production example of the SUV, complete with the chassis number 001. It sounds cool, although all relevant details about the car itself remain to be revealed.
All we know about the Hongqi Off-Road is that it is a full-size, frame-based SUV marketed as the company’s first serious off-roader. It is expected to arrive packing four electric motors capable of taking it from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds flat.
