The all-electric Jeep Wagoneer S is slated to become the American marque’s first globally offered battery SUV. It will first go on sale in the USA this fall priced from $71,995.
The crossover is 4,886 mm large, 2,123 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall (roughly 191 x 83 x 64 inches). It is a fairly low-drag machine with a drag ratio of 0.29. Its dual motors deliver 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) and 837 Nm (617 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, letting it sprint 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.4 seconds and reach its peak acceleration at 200 km/h (124 mph). Those are some impressive results for a bulky electric SUV tipping the scales at 2,570 kg (5,665 lbs).
The battery offers 100 kilowatt-hours of capacity and lasts 483 km (300 miles). Charging it from 20 to 80 percent takes 23 minutes.
Drivers can switch between five drivetrain modes called Auto, Economy, Sport, Snow, and Sand. The front-axle motor unit may temporarily disengage from the axle in order to save power when the driving conditions allow for it.
The interior is all-new. The infotainment screen may be familiar to you from other Jeep models, but here it is accompanied by as many as four new displays. The digital dashboard and the head unit both measure 12.3 inches corner-to-corner, the front passenger gets a 10.25-inch display, and there is a dedicated touch panel for HVAC and seat adjustments.
When it hits the showroom floors this fall, the Wagoneer S EV will be available in a special trim called Launch Edition. It will be bundled with 20-inch wheels, 19-speaker McIntosh audio featuring a dedicated amp and a subwoofer, heated-ventilated rear seats, and panoramic roof. Jeep promises to use lots of premium materials for the trim while avoiding natural fabrics and leather. Instead, the company will be using Alcantara and recycled weave.
Following its debut in the United States and Canada this autumn, the SUV will go on sale in all other markets where Jeep is represented, starting from early 2025.
