Chery has opened its pre-order books for the new Jetour Traveller SUV at the Chengdu Motor Show. Car News China is reporting that there will be five modifications to choose from, priced from 140,000 to 180,900 Yuan.
The off-roader is sized 4,785 x 2,006 x 1,880 mm (186.9 x 78.4 x 73.4 inches) with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm (109.4 inches). It has an approach angle of 27 degrees, a departure angle of 30 degrees and 220 mm (8.6 inches) of ground clearance. It can wade water up to 700 mm (27.3 inches) high and be optioned with wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches in diameter.
A peek inside reveals an oval multi-function wheel and two displays – a 10.25-inch digital dash and a 15.6-inch infotainment display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset. Level 2 driving aids are also on the list, including adaptive cruise control, self-parking and more.
A 12-speaker Sony audio system, keyless entry, steering wheel heating and heated/ventilated front seats are also mentioned. The SUV currently displayed at the show is a five-seater, but Jetour says a seven-seat modification will also be available.
For the powertrain, buyers can choose between two turbocharged petrol engines. Sticking with 1.5T gives you 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque, while opting for 2.0T boosts the output to 254 PS (251 hp / 187 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft). The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch regardless of your engine choice, but only the top spec gets BorgWarner AWD and drive mode selection (snow, mud, gravel etc.).
Later on, the company promises to add a plug-in hybrid version to the list.
