Jetour, which is a part of automaker Chery, has unveiled the exterior and cabin of its SUV formerly known as the T-1. The model will go on sale under the name ‘Traveller’ and be available with five and seven seats to choose between. There will be three powertrains, including a hybrid one, and the prices are already known.
The full-fledged premiere remains scheduled for the Shanghai Auto Show, but AutoHome reports that the pricing will lie within the range of 149,800–206,800 Yuan.
The production SUV looks heavily inspired by its prototype introduced last fall (see video). The lighting in particular looks the same, and so do the hood with handles, the elaborate front bumper with towing eyes, and the boxy spare wheel cover. On the other hand, the mirrors and the door handles look much simpler.
This is the first time we see the interior of the off-roader, complete with a squared-off steering wheel with its thick spokes, a digital gauge cluster, a large touchscreen in the middle and an unusual transmission selector on the center tunnel. The trim is olive-green on the demo photos, but that’s about all we can say about it thus far.
The sizes remain to be revealed, too. Earlier reports suggested that the five-seat version would be 4.8 meters large and the seven-seater 0.15 m larger than that. Both now appear somewhat bigger than expected.
For the drivetrain, the buyers will be choosing between a 1.6T, a 2.0T, and an electrified 1.5T engine. All three will be available with a 7-speed DCT and 8-speed A/T to choose between. BorgWarner will provide the AWD system for all the versions mentioned above.
