Luxeed, an automotive brand co-founded between Chery and Huawei, has registered a new trademark: RX, an all-electric SUV heavily inspired by the Ferrari Purosangue. Early data suggests it will go on sale with two powertrains to choose from sometime in the second half of the year.
The Luxeed RX measures slightly over five meters (197.6 inches) long with a wheelbase of three meters (118.1 inches). Curiously, Xiaomi’s SU7 crossover has almost the same dimensions, plus a very similar Purosangue-esque exterior. One has to wonder who copied who – if that's a relevant concern for the buyers at all, of course.
In its most basic form, the SUV will ship with a single rear-axle motor rated at 377 PS (372 hp / 277 kW). This version weighs around 2,250 kilos (4,960 pounds). Paying a premium unlocks a dual-motor top spec with an added front-axle motor producing 217 PS (214 hp / 160 kW). This one tips the scales at 2,400 kg (5,291 lbs). Battery size and range remain to be revealed.
On the technical front, Luxeed promises drivers a latest-gen Huawei LiDAR and the newest version of the Huawei Qiankun ADS. The pricing likely won’t be revealed until a proper premiere.
